Your Wedding Menu, Grown From The Season You're Celebrating

We design wedding catering that tastes like Alberta at its peak — locally sourced, beautifully plated, and personal to your day.

Why The Season Makes All The Difference

A winter wedding calls for different food than a June garden party — and that's something worth embracing rather than ironing out with a fixed package menu. At Sparklriver, we begin every wedding consultation by asking when and where. The answer shapes the ingredients, the presentation style, and even the serving format. A February wedding might centre on slow-braised short rib with roasted root vegetables and a wild mushroom jus; a July wedding might open with chilled gazpacho shooters and a herb-crusted lamb station. Both are extraordinary because both are genuinely right for their moment.

How We Build Your Menu Together

After your initial inquiry, we schedule a tasting session — a real one, with plates on the table and a conversation about what excites you. We'll bring two or three seasonal proposals based on your date, guest count, and any dietary considerations. From there, we refine. Most couples go through one round of changes before confirming; some need two. We don't rush that process. By the time your event arrives, the menu is something you've thought about and tasted, not something you're hoping for. We also coordinate with your venue's kitchen team to ensure the evening runs without friction.

What A Sparklriver Wedding Includes

Every package is bespoke, but here's what every wedding client receives.

Seasonal Tasting Session

Sit down with our chef before you commit. You'll taste candidate dishes, discuss alternatives, and leave with a clear picture of what your menu will look and feel like on the day.

Full Dietary Management

We collect dietary information from your guest list through a simple online form and design alternatives that are equally seasonal and equally beautiful — nobody gets a sad substitute plate at a Sparklriver wedding.

Setup And Breakdown Included

Our team handles all equipment transport, kitchen setup, service, and post-event cleanup. You focus on the people; we focus on the plates.

On-Site Coordination

A dedicated event lead from our team is on site from arrival through the final course, liaising with your photographer, DJ, and venue coordinator so the food service integrates seamlessly into your schedule.

We got married in October and asked Sparklriver to lean hard into harvest season. They delivered: wild rice salad with roasted beets, a butternut squash soup with toasted pepitas, and a main of herb-roasted chicken with apple and sage. Our guests still bring it up six months later. Worth every cent.
